Lead Shopify Developer, Technical Lead

Remote Full-time Engineering Senior

Lead the technical approach on our most complex Shopify Plus builds: large catalogs, B2B, and integrations.

About the role

We are looking for a senior developer to lead the technical approach on our most demanding Shopify Plus builds: large catalogs, B2B buying, and back-office integrations. You will set the standard the team builds to, own the architecture, and ship work that holds up in production.

This is a hands-on lead role on a small, senior, remote team, where the person doing the work also makes the calls. If you like hard problems and shipping real software, you will have plenty of both.

What you would do

  • Lead the technical approach on complex Shopify Plus builds, from architecture to launch.
  • Own the integrations between the storefront and the systems that run the business.
  • Set and hold the code standard, and keep the build maintainable as it grows.
  • Review work, unblock the team, and bring other developers up with you.
  • Partner with project management and design so builds ship on time and as designed.

What you bring

  • Senior Shopify and Liquid experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • A track record with B2B and back-office or ERP integrations.
  • Strong fundamentals in performance, accessibility and testing.
  • The judgment to lead a small team and be the technical point of contact.
  • Clear written communication for a remote team.

Nice to have

  • Hydrogen or headless Shopify experience.
  • Checkout extensibility and Shopify Functions.
  • Prior agency or client-facing experience.

How we work

Remote-first, senior and small. You own your work and make the calls that go with it. One team owns the whole stack, so there are no handoffs where the work falls through. We hold a high standard and keep improving how we build.

The hiring process

  1. Intro call: a 30-minute conversation about you, the role, and what you are looking for.
  2. Working conversation: a deeper discussion of how you think and how you work.
  3. Practical review: a look at your past work, or a short, paid practical exercise.
  4. Meet the team: time with the people you would work with day to day.
  5. Offer: we move quickly once we know it is a fit.
